Tutankhamun (1342 – 1325 BCE), was the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh ruling during the end of the 18th dynasty. His father was Pharaoh Akhenaton who instituted a monotheistic state religion; worship or Aten. This religion shook the foundation of Egyptian society, moved the location of the capital and dismantled the priest class. Tutankhamun restored the Ancient Egyptian religion. He nullified his father’s idea of the one God; Aten. Tutankhamun then enriched the original “Priestly Orders” of two important sects and restored old monuments damaged during the previous period. Egyptian temples were also restored to their prior glory.
