One of the most visually recognizable of ancient Egyptian Gods is Anubis ( or rather Anpu or Inpu in Egyptian language) He is represented as a jackal-headed entity associated with the rites of embalming the deceased and related afterlife. Like many Egyptian Gods, Anubis did have other aspects, but his core attributes were seemingly always related to the matters of death.
